Join us for a discussion of teaching, drawing, and the foundations of architecture in celebration of Pier Paolo Tamburelli’s irreverent new primer Grundkurs: What is Architecture About? (MACK). Presenting the annotated sketches that form the basis of his lectures at TU Wein, this volume is a rich sourcebook of architectural ideas which pauses on the road to grand theories to learn from the intuitive processes of note-taking, drawing, and association. Pier Paolo will be in conversation with Tony Fretton and Dubravka Sekulić in the lecture theatre of the Architectural Association, followed by drinks and and a book signing.

About Grundkurs: What is Architecture About?
In this collection of idiosyncratic lessons, architect Pier Paolo Tamburelli engages with the very foundations of architecture, proposing a series of new and open-ended perspectives on how we build the world. Presenting the annotated sketches that form the basis of his lectures, this volume is a sourcebook of architectural ideas which pauses on the road to grand theories to learn from the intuitive processes of notetaking, drawing, and association.
